GLOBE: K-12 Environmental Monitoring Program
GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment)
is a hands-on, school-based science and education program
in which students engage in hands-on studies in atmosphere,
hydrology, soils, land cover, and phenology in collaboration
with scientists and other GLOBE students around the world.
GLOBE teachers receive training at GLOBE professional development
workshops and are provided with teacher's guides and continuing
support. Those interested must submit proposals by March 1,
2002. For more information, visit http://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2002/nsf02013/nsf02013.htm.
Online Watershed Game
This site offers interactive online learning modules, games
and simulations in art, nature, science, history and geography
for grades three and higher. Two games currently posted allow
students to transform a barren plain into a healthy prairie
and test their watershed knowledge.

Watershed Academy Web and On-Line Certificate Program
Courses are designed to provide a broad overview of watershed
management. The goal of the program is to assist states, local
governments, and grass roots organizations in their efforts
to protect and restore the nation's watersheds. The Academy
now offers a new on-line certificate program. To receive a
certificate, you must complete 15 modules and pass the self-tests.
