Featured Watershed Group
Greenbrier River Watershed Association
Located in Lewisburg, West Virginia, the Greenbrier River
Watershed Association aims “to promote the maintenance,
preservation, protection, and restoration of the ecological
integrity of the Greenbrier River and its watershed.” The
Association facilitates a water monitoring project on the
Greenbrier River and its tributaries, and offers educational
workshops to schools in the Greenbrier River Watershed. In
collaboration with the Capacon Institute, the group issued
the publication “Baseline Survey of the Greenbrier
River” after an extensive study. The Association also
published the “Greenbrier River Watershed Association
Water Quality Manual” for distribution to members and
others interested in the water quality of the Greenbrier
River. The group’s website includes many useful features,
among them an online newsletter and regularly updated water
monitoring data, streamflow charts for the Greenbrier River,
and maps of area watersheds. To learn more, visit www.greenbrierriver.org
