Technical Assistance Training in Forestry and Watershed Work
The focus of this TA is on community-based forestry and watershed
work and the use of co-op agreements for public-private partnerships
to accomplish new and innovative programs and projects. Trainings
will occur at workshops around the country, in collaboration
with the National Network of Forest Practitioners and other
partners, as part of the national outreach surrounding the
National Fire Plan. Training and TA can also happen individually
via email, phone conversations, and in some limited cases
through direct site visits where budgets will allow. Contact

National Water Monitoring Day
On the 30th anniversary of the Clean Water Act, volunteer
monitors, water quality professionals, students, the public,
and government leaders will test their local waters for four
key characteristics. Stream and beach clean-ups, educational
events, and water festivals will be part of the event. For

Bringing It Home: Lessons from the Field for Making Watershed
Management Work
This workshop will bring together watershed coordinators,
state agency representatives, and regional and national watershed
experts to discuss a number of issues critical to watershed
management. Attendees to the workshop will gain access to
a number of experienced professionals and other resources,
and have a chance to interact with others facing similar
situations. The workshop will cover such topics as land use
planning, working with local government, integrating watershed
planning within a regulator framework, financial management,
watershed analysis tools, and TMDL development. There will
also be a site tour of innovative BMPs in central Ohio. Cost
is $60 per day or $100 for both days. For details and registration
