Funding
Wetland Project Grants
The US Fish & Wildlife Service and the North American
Wetlands Conservation Council are accepting proposals as
match for wetland and wetland-associated upland conservation
projects under the Small Grants program. Projects include
acquisition, enhancement, and restoration and must have a
1:1 or greater in non-Federal matching funds. For program

is November 29.
EPA Environmental Justice Grants to Small Community Groups
This grant program provides financial assistance to community-based
organizations and tribal governments for local environmental
justice projects. Grants can be used for education and
awareness, environmental justice, technical assistance
in accessing available public information, and technical
assistance with gathering and interpreting existing environmental
justice data. Application deadline is the first week of
March. Email environmental-justice-epa@epa.gov for more
information.
Ohio Department of Natural Resources Non-point Source Watershed
Projects
ODNR provides funds to help implement programs and projects
which protect or improve natural functions of water resources.
Projects generally provide cost sharing to landowners or
managers to apply non-point source pollution control policies.
Grants are usually funded in the $30,000 to $50,000 range.
SWCDs or other local agencies in cooperation with SWCDs are
eligible. Deadline is March 1. Contact Jill Evans at 614.265.6637.
Water Quality Research Grants Program
This program teams the Cooperative State Research Education
Extension Service (CSREES) with multiple federal agencies.
The program targets projects that look specifically at
agriculture-related degradation of water quality. Projects
must have a clear problem statement and be place-based.
Preference is given to projects that 1) coordinate targeted
research, education, and cooperative extension activities,
and 2) work to minimize all adverse impacts that agricultural,
forest, and range management practices, food and agricultural
product processing, and/or livestock production systems
might have on the nation's water quality. Applications
are accepted perpetually. State/local governments and academic/nonprofit
institutions located in the United States are eligible.

Ohio Division of Wildlife: Wildlife Diversity Grant Program
The priorities for Wildlife Diversity grant program include
research, surveys (biological or sociological), management,
preservation, law enforcement, education, and land acquisition.
Funding is a maximum of $5,000 for one year. Two public
presentations focusing on the project highlights are required
of grant recipients. Both individuals and organizations

Watershed Cooperative Agreement Program: Arts & Appalachia
Clean Streams Program
The Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement
(OSM) of the U.S. Department of the Interior and the National
Endownment for the Arts have developed this program to assist
eligible groups undertake preliminary design projects engaging
significant artists with local watershed groups. Applications
are considered perpetually. Eligible applicants are not-for-profit,
established organizations with IRS 501(c)(3) status. Applicants
must have other partners, contributing either funding or
in-kind services; the partners must provide a substantial
portion of the total resources needed to complete the project.
Projects must meet eligibility criteria for coal projects
outlined in Section 404 of the Surface Mining Control and
Reclamation Act of 1997. Maximum grant amount is $25,000.
