titled “Why Watersheds?” It is designed to
bridge the gap for people who may not understand the whys
and hows of watershed protection. Topics include: defining
a watershed; how development impacts watershed health;
why it is important to protect watersheds; steps that planners,
watershed groups, and citizens can take to protect water
resources. Visit http://www.cwp.org to view the slideshow.
Smart Growth Tool Kit
The National Neighborhood Coalition plans to offer a Neighborhoods,
Regions, and Smart Growth Tool Kit on its website, www.neighborhoodcoalition.org
The online resource will help community activists get more
involved in regional land-use issues. The tool kit will
provide fact sheets helping advocates forge alliances with
other organizations. It will contain a guide giving advice
on coalition building around growth issues and a checklist
for getting started.
