New Tools for Environmental Protection: Education, Information,

Real-Time Water Resources Conditions Online
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has implemented a new website
offering a real-time display of streamflow conditions measured
at USGS gaging stations nationwide and then compared to
historical averages. Information on current and recent
streamflow is available in map, table or plot form, and

Watershed Management Guide
Thomas E. Davenport, an Environmental Scientist for the U.S.
EPA, has created the Watershed Project Management Guide,
a multiphase approach to water resource management that combines
biophysical, economic, and social considerations with local
knowledge in a collaborative process working towards common
goals. The Guide is available for $119.95 from CRC Press

Forests Matter Section Added to NBC 4 Web site
The NBC4 Weather Net4 web site has a new section on "Forests
Matter." Check out the six new chapters at

(ECHO) – Enforcement and Compliance History Online – US
EPA
The U.S. EPA in partnership with state government agencies
has developed an online searchable Web database containing
environmental compliance and EPA/State enforcement records
for approximately 800,000 regulated facilities. ECHO includes
inspection reports, violations, enforcement actions, and
penalties imposed. Information dated within the past two
years is currently accessible using the ECHO system. Visit
