National Source Water Protection Conference

The National Source Water Protection Conference is being
conducted by the EPA to bring together government officials,
watershed organizations, businesses and others to learn about
the successful prevention of drinking water contamination.
The conference will promote planning and coordination, partnerships
among groups, and will provide hands-on sessions to explore
funding and networking activities and other subjects of interest

Connecting Ohio Watersheds Conference

The themes for this year's Connecting Ohio Watersheds Conference
are the creation of sustainable watershed groups and locally
significant watershed initiatives. Experts on environmental
policy will speak on issues relating to local watershed planning,
including environmental negotiation and stakeholder participation.
Following the main session, four workshops and a range of
concurrent sessions will be available to conference participants.

Just Connections First Annual Conference for Community and
Scholar Activists Emory & Henry College, Emory, Virginia

The Just Connections Conference is intended to focus on issues
and models for participatory research, service learning, and
community-based education. The conference is scheduled to
feature sessions led by experts in Appalachian grassroots
community efforts, how-to workshops on utilizing service learning
project opportunities and full coverage of issues useful to
the creation and growth of community-based programs in environmental
and other concerns. Scholarship funds are available to lower-income
participants; spaces for the conference are limited and will

Kentucky Waterways Alliance Annual Conference

The conference's first day will be spent examining the Kentucky
state triennial water quality standards review and the status
of Clean Water Act implementation and water conservation in
Kentucky. On the second day, the KWA will hold their annual
meeting with sessions for KWA members and groups to look at

National Forum on Water Quality Trading

Sponsored by the U.S. Natural Resources Conservation Service,
U.S. EPA, the Water Environment Federation, and the Association
of State and Interstate Water Pollution Control Administrators
The purpose of this forum is to educate participants about
the complexities of water trading policies. Attendees will
learn about the economic and environmental benefits of water
trading, challenges in the operation of trading programs,
and implementation of water trading policies. Case study presentations
will be used to demonstrate water trading activity. Anyone
