ServicesWelfare Reform
The
Appalachian Partnership for Welfare Reform (APWR)
assists human service agencies in the 29-county region
of Ohio Appalachia as they implement the Ohio Works First
welfare reform and meet the goals of the federal Temporary
Assistance for Needy Families program.
ILGARD administers the partnership, which is endorsed by
the Appalachian Directors Association, through a three-year
grant from the Ohio Department of Human Services. A variety
of products and services are available to county human service
agencies, including Social
Marketing.
The Rural Welfare Reform
Project (RWRP) assists policymakers by conducting academic
research in order to assertain the effects of rural welfare
reform.
